A whole new fear

I wonder, even if not just a majority, but a huge majority of voters were to vote for the Biden ticket — and enough of their votes could be properly and honestly tabulated — if we could actually rid ourselves of Trump, and, of course in doing so, also his buddy Putin (make no mistake, he IS our mortal enemy).

This issue is especially important if there might actually be a chance that enough Secret Service personnel, critical units and commanders of our military forces, and vital police departments might actually be inclined to betray their personal honor and their oath to our Constitution, and thus our — and their — country, in favor of this dictator wannabe.

I certainly don’t want to hear news about the Secret Service, the Marine guards, and other government personnel or agents trading gunfire in and around the White House in the election’s aftermath like some third-world country.

I never, ever seriously or truly wondered about this possibility at any other time in my almost eight decades. I doubt many of us ever had.

And I never thought we would ever need a Benedict Arnold Medal in our awards inventory.
