Columns worth reading

Two principal reasons my 1957 bride and I subscribe to the daily Spokesman-Review, and begin every morning reading it over coffee by the fireplace, are writers Shawn Vestal and Leonard Pitts. If cerebrally-challenged, unlettered yahoos in red caps are, as their letters to the editor suggest, opposed to these two bright, original, educated and thoughtful writers, they probably should stick to Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and The National Enquirer. Either be kind and be informed or go away — and take America’s vile, anti-American, oval office con-man with you.
