Thank you, election staff

I would like to thank the elections staff of Stevens County for their professional handling of this election. As an observer, I watched them handle ballots with care and neutrality. Each ballot was carefully evaluated for legitimacy and each step of the intake and verification process was checked, and then checked again. And then checked yet again. I have never had reason to doubt our election processes, but watching the process taught me why I have the confidence in them that I do.

And watching them, I was very glad that I live in Washington. I was very glad to see in action that in this state, my vote matters, and to the best of the elections staffs’ ability, will be counted.

Thank you again, election workers all over the state, for continuing to run our elections with diligence and care, and by doing so maintaining the integrity of the system.
