Who’s to blame?
In the argument raging over the pandemic, the question arose, “how would you suggest the federal government should have handled things?”
The fault isn’t the federal government, it’s the president.
Had he listened to his experts, taken the pandemic seriously and maintained a consistent message from the outset, there would be far fewer U.S. casualties than we are seeing now and there would have been more invested in study and adapting to this new virus.
Had he girded the people of the nation for battle against the virus instead of calling himself a wartime commander in chief while casting blame where there was none, this nation would be a world leader not in dire statistics, but in finding answers and creating solutions.
His mixed messages, blatant lies, failure to set the example and conflicting stances are what politicized the pandemic, and he bears sole responsibility for that.
Donald Trump has shown no leadership as he abrogates his responsibilities to the American people, putting himself, as ever, above all other considerations.
And as this virus heats up, just as his experts predicted it would, where is Trump?
Since November 3, he’s done little to nothing but pout and whine as he insists he won when he quite clearly lost, and spread lies and frivolous losing court cases that will long hurt the nation, its system of governance and the constitution he took a solemn oath to protect and defend.
