CMR in the wrong

After two phone calls this week to Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ offices, one in D.C. and the other here in Spokane, I received the same scripted answer to my question of why has Rep. Rodgers not uttered the words, Joe Biden is the president-elect. Both times I received the reply that she is waiting for the court cases to play out.

That ship has sailed and Trump and his attempts to overturn the popular vote in the country have failed 1-52 to date. I called on Monday before the states had certified their votes on Safe Harbor Day. When I called again today, I received the same answer stating that she has made no public announcement yet. I know — that’s why I was calling to see when her support for democracy was to be expressed.

I have the feeling that she is afraid of “the base,” whose votes count as much as mine does, of course, but President-elect Biden received substantially more of the votes in this national election and it’s time for Rep. Rodgers to stand up for free and fair elections and the acceptance, whether she is happy with the results or not, of the certified votes of every state in the Union. I would think that someone who has sworn many times to uphold the Constitution would be brave enough to make her voice heard.
