Do the right thing, CMR

The election is over. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers won re-election by a wide margin, and no one disputes her victory. A congressperson representing such a safe district should have no problem speaking out about any subject, respecting that some will differ with that point of view, and that’s OK … it’s one of the foundations of American independence.

Why hasn’t she congratulated President-elect Joe Biden and VP-elect Kamala Harris? They won with a convincing 51.4% of the popular vote and captured the Electoral College with 306 votes. As of December 8th she’s not acknowledged this clear victory.

I’m aware that the outgoing president has not conceded, and is throwing all of his might towards reversing his loss. This, in spite of an ongoing medical crisis that has taken the lives of 260,000 Americans. This is slightly more than the population of Spokane. Republicans, Democrats and independents. Young, old, fit or infirm. 260,000 fewer Americans to live the American dream, while a wretched, foolish buffoon dithers, jousting at windmills that will not yield.

The congresswoman knows that. Certainly she knows the truth about the elections outcome, and the wasted efforts of ourpPresident. This affront to our liberty must end. Her congressional seat is safe. She needs to speak out and affirm the outcome of America’s election and disavow herself from the current president’s foolishness. It is time for Cathy McMorris Rodgers to do the right thing and congratulate the incoming president and his administration. Her constituents deserve the truth.
