It hasn’t failed … yet

Recently the cover of This Week magazine cartooned President For Life Donald Trump wearing the uniform of a banana republic dictator with the headline “The Failed Coup.” I am not so sure the coup failed. The d’etat of achievement maybe future and yet to come.

President Trump and his followers are still engaged. They rally their minions with counterfeit media, undue influence and false claims. Republican senators and representatives do nothing but hide in the shadows while their demagogue remodels the nation into a barony of rascals. Their endeavor is not for the blessings of liberty for all but for the win and ensured victory, a definition of sieg heil.

Former President Ronald Reagan warned that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. President Trump and his supplicants are bringing that to reality because the eternal vigilance, required by our Creator, to pay the full price for liberty is also going extinct.
