The truth is hard

“You can’t handle the truth” … a famous line from the film “A few good men.” How apropos in today’s American society. To those of you who rebel against and refuse to wear a protective mask or social distance in public, you can’t handle the truth. To the people who still think COVID-19 is a hoax perpetrated by the deep state to take down a president, you can’t handle the truth.

Over fifteen million Americans have tested positive for the coronavirus and almost 285,000 have died from it — an average of almost 900 a day, making it the leading cause of death in the United States — but there continue to be those who see hard fact as nothing more than lies. Truth is the property of being in accord with fact or reality. If those facts and that reality stand in the way of your beliefs, then you just can’t handle the truth.
