Close the circus

Like circus elephants moving in lock-step, joined trunk to tail, a large number of Republican (elephants) lawmakers (including “our” Cathy McMorris Rodgers) entered the main ring of the circus at the direction of the owner (Trump) and the ringmaster (McConnell).

The elephants did little while in the ring. With the exception of a few who called attention to themselves by stomping and bellowing, they did not communicate or engage with the people stuck in the Big Top. Finally, realizing that this performance was doing nothing to help the reputation or claim of professionalism by the circus, the ringmaster allowed the elephants to leave the Big Top: moving in lock-step, joined trunk to tail.

These elephants are our elected lawmakers. Please remember this in 2022. Close the circus.
