More than white men in Spokane

I was flabbergasted and dismayed to see photos of only white men on the front page, accompanying the article regarding opinions in Spokane on impeachment (“A Spokane divided,” Jan. 25). Really? Yes, the article itself contains comments from women, but having only photographs of men is a strong and, unfortunately, inaccurate visual of who is talking about impeachment. Of the twenty-three named persons interviewed in the article, only nine were women and fourteen were men.

In addition, the photographs are of only white men, no photographs of any persons of color. This, too, was very unfortunate. Given only the front page photographs, the headline should have been, “A white, male Spokane divided.”
