U.S. is not under dictatorship

For Rep. Nadler to refer to the president as a dictator is not only false, it is remarkably ignorant of history, those who have suffered under true dictatorships, and current events.

I didn’t even vote for Trump. But I have lived in a country that was an actual dictatorship. Many residents of Washington came from the former USSR and know what actual dictators are like. As do people from a myriad of Latin American and African countries. Perhaps they could educate the senator on true dictatorial rulers.

President Trump is not ruling by decree. There is no suspension of the courts, the Constitution, or the people’s right to vote. The impeachment trial has not been quashed by any emergency declaration. Rep. Nadler’s comment is, quite simply, foolish and reprehensible. America is still the shining beacon on a hill.
