Albi’s parking plague

Mr. Baumgartner needs to leave the Albi stadium question alone (“Vision for downtown stadium gets new life,” News, Jan. 23).

The reason the stadium by the arena was voted down was because the traffic from multiple venues was too great for the existing streets and there wasn’t going to be enough parking. I think the better question is why is a large stadium being built on park land right next to the Arena without a public vote.

This stadium is going to cause the same traffic issues that the outdoor stadium was going to and the park land being used for this should have been used for a north bank section of Riverfront park — as I believe was part of the original park renovation plan that the voters asked for.

The whole idea of the outdoor stadium by the arena was always a bad idea, and now with another sports complex right next door, what do you think the traffic and parking will be like?
