Pitts’ column biased

It was with absolute wonderment, then disgust, that I read Mr. Pitts’ column in the S-R on February 3 (“Hillary was right about the basket”).

Let’s start with his “Hillary was right” and Don Lemon justification, and end with his comment “the right is less well educated” and “validates their inchoate biases and fears.” First, I personally don’t consider a college degree the only way to be “educated.”

Mr. Pitts, it probably never occurred to you that the people who fix your car, build and wire your house, grow your food, build your electronic devices and protect your family and country may or may not be college educated, but does that make them non-educated? No, they are educated, but in a different field than your academic bubble.

Next, what gives you the right to demean an entire societal group just because they didn’t attend college or that they disagree with your view of the world? What gives you the moral right to designate and accuse non- progressives of “inchoate fears and biases”? The only bias here is yours. A college education doesn’t guarantee deliverance from ignorance … just look in the mirror for proof.
