Acquitted by whom?

Never having been very fond of Mitt Romney, I did not expect that he had the courage and backbone to stand up to the narcissist in the White House in contrast to his Republican colleagues. Our Republican senators’ failure to permit additional witnesses in order to cover up the obvious misdeeds of Trump goes against their oath of impartiality which to them seems to be just a meaningless informality.

This cover-up is on the same level as Trump’s refusal to open his tax returns. If Trump and our Republican senators really think that they have nothing to hide there would be no need for those cover ups.
