Noise ordinance

Once again council women Lori Kinnear wants to change the constitution to limit the voice of the people. Who and how gets appointed to noise control patrol?? Can you envision what would have happened to the women’s rights movement, civil rights movement and the protest to stop the Vietnam war when all you can hear is a whisper??

City, state and federal officials have insulated themselves from hearing the voices of the people behind closed doors and X-ray machines and metal detectors. If you want to voice your opinion, send in a letter two weeks explaining the issue to get permission to raise your voice.

Spokane is our go-to city; we have family and close friends there. Great venue for theater, sports, relaxation, shopping and so much more. We support our neighbors to stop this unjust quest to quiet our voice!

The Spokesman-Review invites original letters on local topics of public interest. Your letter must adhere to the following rules:

  • No more than 250 words
  • We reserve the right to reject letters that are not factually correct, racist or are written with malice.
  • We cannot accept more than one letter a month from the same writer.
  • With each letter, include your daytime phone number and street address.
