On-the-job training

In Shawn Vestal’s column today (“Has mayor shifted her stance on homeless?,” Feb. 12), city spokesperson Marlene Feist is cited as saying Mayor Woodward is in the midst of learning a lot about the city’s wide range of service providers and programs. It is no surprise that an anchorwoman has to do this and a shame that we did not elect someone with governing experience.

City council, school board, fire district, dog catcher? Any public service position would have provided some preparation for the office of mayor. Please pay attention, voters.
