Recycling S-R bags

For the past few weeks I’ve been saving the bags and rubber bands that come with my daily newspapers. Last night I put out a small shopping bag stuffed to the brim with them and a note saying “Please reuse/recycle!”

Alone, I am only making a very small dent in the proliferation of plastic bags. But, what if the Spokesman-Review encouraged everyone to do this? Think of how much plastic bag consumption could be reduced.

Earth Day is April 22nd. I encourage you to come up with an initiative for Earth Day to get folks to send their bags back to you for re-use.
