Considerations before voting

James Becker, thank you for having the courage to point out what it would be like to have a gay president (“Are we ready,” Dec. 21).

Personally, I’m glad we live in a country where being gay doesn’t get your head chopped off. But a president of our great country needs to be able to travel the world without that fear. You made some very good observations and I think it is something we all need to consider before we vote.
