The Founders feared tryanny
We all know that political parties have had an outsize influence on the governance of our country. For many years now this partisan division has been a hindrance and a constant distraction from the real challenges our country faces.
It is time to remind members in all three branches of the government that they took an oath of fealty to the United States Constitution. One can only serve one master.
When an individual’s partisanship morphs into a fealty to a political party or a president, it is time for them to resign. If we believe that an individual has crossed that red line we should demonstrate that they no longer have a right to represent us and vote them out of office.
The focus of the U.S. Constitution is on the constraint of political power. The Founders feared the tyranny of the majority would corrupt the political process. Let us all keep a clear objective mind and not allow any political party or any president to claim a position above the law of the land.
