Alcohol at WSU

Add Spokesman-Review on Google

I was appalled by the article several days ago that appeared in the newspaper stating that alcohol would now be served on campus at the ball games. Isn’t it a shame, the deaths that have happened recently on campus that making alcohol more available a senseless decision all for making more money.

I hope that the committee that is sanctioning this idea rethinks it. When has getting revenue been more important than our young people’s lives? Encouraging students to have “a couple drinks” at the games is pathetic reasoning. Many students are exposed to drinking for the first time when they go off to college and do not always use the best judgement. Isn’t it our responsibility to be good leader and mentors to those students?

I hope this plan is being rethought.
