Another bait and switch?

How dare the Spokane School Board even consider overriding the voters’ decision on Albi Stadium?

The school board asked the voters for the money and on which site we wanted it to be spent. We told them and by a large majority. The public did not ask for a downtown sports venue. This project was heavily lobbied by developers who may stand to make a tidy sum by its construction. And, of course, a local official seeks to further this “bait and switch.”

This same official implies that we didn’t understand what we were voting for. Yes, we did! Do you think us fools? Does our vote mean nothing? The school board’s credibility rests on this decision. We will remember how you handle this and vote on any future levies accordingly.
