Bureaucracy and lemonade
Finally! Someone with some common sense trying to protect budding entrepreneurs from overzealous bureaucrats who want to have control over kid’s lemonade stands. (“Bill would provide protection for kids’ lemonade stands,” Jan. 22)
A few rules is not a bad thing, but a requirement to spell lemonade correctly is ridiculous. Anyone can understand what “leminade,” “lemonaid” or any variation of the spelling means. Be reasonable for heaven’s sake! These little kids have only good intentions. They just want to make a few dollars and have some fun. Encourage them, help them and be kind. Stop and buy some. It would mean so much to them.
Every time I see a child’s lemonade stand, I stop or turn around and buy some. It’s the kind thing to do, and they love it. I don’t care if it’s warm or sour. Bureaucracy, stop being a killjoy!
