Be specific on gun laws

I would like to know why Jim Camden did not let readers know about proposed gun law 1374. (“Gun control bills advance in Legislature,” Jan. 24) The Democrats want to change the state Constitution to let local authorities adopt police power to regulate firearms.

The Democrats are declaring that guns are a health crisis, and this would protect the welfare of the citizens. This would mean that your local governments can ban or restrict any firearm they choose. Your constitutional rights do not matter. They also want to put more restrictions where concealed weapon permit holders can carry.

Jim Camden said in his article that the Democrats are trying to do something locally. Readers have the right to know what is really going on, and not vague details.
