Do they really believe?

At least once a week, I read in this paper or see things on the internet by someone who probably knows little or nothing about the climate, and our legislature is no exception.

On one hand we are told to keep our emissions down or we will all be dead in 10 years … then when we try to do that we are taxed for our trouble. Case in point: My wife and I each have a Prius. We get about 45 miles per gallon. I’m told that at 15,000 miles a year, they emit about as much of the bad stuff as using a gallon of oil based paint.

But how does our state reward us for being responsible environmental wackos? When I went last week to renew the license tabs the state had tacked on a $75.00 penalty — because they are hybrids and don’t use enough gas (and don’t pollute enough apparently).

I can’t think of a better definition of hypocrisy then this by our liberal legislature.
