The extraordinary Dr. Thai

What a pleasure to open the S-R today and see the beautiful Dr. Thai on the front page. My sister Helen died 1 1/2 years ago after struggling many years with complications of diabetes that required frequent hospitalizations.

At the time, Dr. Thai worked as a hospitalist at Sacred Heart for Kaiser. We were always thrilled when she was the one who cared for Helen. There were never any real solutions for Helen, but the overwhelming compassion and kindness that emanated from Dr. Thai was always heartening , even when healing eluded us all. Thank you for recognizing her extraordinary gifts.
