McCann serves us well
I am thankful for people like Rob McCann of Catholic Charities. I admire the strength and honest humility of his heart and soul that is not locked into an institutional box. McCann did not deserve the clumsy and insensitive reply from Bishop Daly and neither did the community. Daly’s message exposed the pride, vanity and pomposity of his corporate position that falls short of any real human and spiritual understanding.
Jesus was not a big fan of the clergy and the religious. He turned their tables, whipped their backs and called them vipers, thieves and hypocrites. It is interesting to note that Jesus is not a white guy and is not a Catholic. He is a Jew who sits at the right hand of God as he was slain for our sins and the sins of the world. Augustine reminds the bishop that pride and vanity destroy and are swift to shed blood and change angels into demons.
Rob McCann is good fruit from good seed. He shepherds a human flock that most of us do not know or want. He serves our community well, may God bless him.
