Morrison will be missed

I was sad to read about the resignation of Kevin Morrison from the board of Spokane Public Schools. Kevin was an asset to the school district. I had the pleasure of working alongside Kevin for a brief period of time at SPS and can confidently say that SPS, as well as the community, has been weakened by his departure.

Kevin is well liked and respected by many. Kevin is able to balance the politics involved with administration and remain a humble leader who truly had the best interest of the community at heart. He brought maturity and pragmatism that the school board leadership could benefit from. He is down to earth, has a heart of gold and a wicked-smart sense of humor.

Whether the choice to leave was made with a not-so-gentle push from the administration or not, we will never know. Either way I am so very, very sad to see one of the few decent leaders leave. Team Kevin Morrison forever.
