Spokane Is Reading 2020: 15 great choices

Over the years, Spokane Is Reading has invited area readers a range of great literature to enjoy. And this year is no different.

Instead of just one book, though, the choices are multiple: some 15 different reads that reflect “the rich tapestry of the American experience.”

Spokane Is Reading has been around since 2002, when the first offering was Kent Haruf’s “Plainsong.” Since then, such area writers as Jess Walter , Sherman Alexie and Timothy Egan have been featured.

No public meetings are planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, say the event organizers, “We encourage you to read one, read a few or read them all! Which ones have you already read? Which do you hope to read? Let us know in the comments!”
