It’s time for Tom

Tom McGarry has the intelligence, political and legal knowledge, ethical discipline, and leadership skills to be an excellent Washington state legislator. Tom cares deeply about the struggles that many of Eastern Washington’s less fortunate residents endure, and has the energy and strong desire to help bring about positive change.

For those reasons and others, we support his candidacy for 6th Legislative District representative and encourage others to vote for him as well.

A Gonzaga Law School graduate, Tom has been practicing law here for 30 years, with a focus on housing and commercial landlord-tenant matters. Intent on giving back to his community, he serves as a fire commissioner, currently chairing the commissioner board in Spokane County Fire District 9, and has served on the West Central Community Center board, including as president. As a volunteer, he also has worked with Spokane COPS’ Crime Free Rental Property program as an instructor and resource.

Devoted to public safety, Tom also wants to apply his pragmatic “science—not science fiction” approach to addressing the huge challenges the health-care sector and Spokane-area economy in general are facing as they seek to recover from the daunting hardships created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a nutshell, he clearly possesses the skills, the experience, the integrity, and the compassion to represent the district well at the state legislature, and we believe he deserves that opportunity. It’s time for Tom!
