They deserve better

We are one of the richest, smartest, most innovative nations on this planet but none of that matters because we are also one of the most selfish. Selfishness has reared its ugly head and took the lead in this countries pandemic response.⁣

Leadership in this country did not step up. We as a people did not step up. We chose fiction over facts. We chose money over human life and we tried to use patriotism to disguise our selfishness. Our individual comforts and discomfort became priority instead of the greater good of our communities. ⁣

If we really wanted schools to re-open this fall it should’ve been a priority when we locked down back in March but because we didn’t take things seriously we missed our shot to SAFELY reopen. Yet, we are still expecting some of our most UNDERVALUED members of society to pick up the pieces and glue this country back together. ⁣

Our children and school staff deserve better!
