We are at war
We are at war. President Trump said so at the March 17th White House briefing. He said that it is a war we will “…win pretty quickly…” and we did make good progress for a while. He has continued calling it a war and implemented a “Task Force” (Pence) to manage it.
There is a difference, though. In this one, we – each and every person – are the soldiers and the enemy has now come back stronger. In what war did we ever lose 1000 soldiers per day each and every day? I looked it up. None. And in any other conflict, we would be called “non-combatants” anyway. We are poorly equipped to fight the battles. Not just personally but in leadership. Our commander in chief has not provided us with the tools, the intelligence and especially the guidance we need to achieve victory. He’s left things up to lieutenants and often countermanded their orders. If this had happened in WWII, we would be singing “Deutschland Uber Alles” instead of “America The Beautiful” today.
I hope we wake up, soon. I think many are. But things must change, quickly. They really do. We’re losing this war, big time.
