Hail King Trump

Well, we saw a Senate impeachment trial that was a total sham. No witnesses or documents were allowed due to a partisan Republican vote.

Evidently, the oath each senator took before the trial, before God, to be impartial, was clearly not honored. The one exception was Mitt Romney, who voted to convict Trump on one of the articles of impeachment.

One of the excuses for voting to acquit given by Susan Collins was that she hopes Trump would learn some things not to do in the future. How incredibly naïve of her. Instead, what Trump learned was that he could continue his lawless behavior. Also, within two days of his acquittal, he demonstrated his lack of presidential tenor by denigrating Romney’s and Nancy Pelosi’s religious views, and did so at a prayer breakfast!

Another example of presidential shallowness was his firing of Colonel Vindman and Ambassador Sondland for telling the truth in a congressional testimony. Vindman is a Purple Heart recipient who honorably served his country for 20 years!

If we as a country continue to allow this squelching of truth, we will slide into authoritarianism rule.

Hail King Trump!
