Not another Bing namesake

Please do not consider naming a school after Bing Crosby! He was known to be abusive to his sons from his first marriage and at nine years old, I experienced his total disregard of a child.

When he was in Spokane recording in the building my mother worked in downtown, my mother called me and told me to come down and get his autograph. I came and waited alone in the hallway for him to come out so I could ask him for his autograph. He did come out, I asked, he looked at me and continued walking, not saying a word to me! His sons saw his behavior and came over to me to apologize for their fathers snub and offered me their autographs. Tears still come to my eyes 66 years later.

I have never had respect for him since then and feel it would be awful having a school named after him since he didn’t care about children, anyway, maybe a bar or public restroom.
