Big Government Party

Concerning the Feb. 11 and 13 articles, “Trump’s 4.8 trillion dollar budget proposal revisits rejected cuts, Trump exposed by his own budget.”

In 2016, Trump inherited a $3.9 trillion federal budget from outgoing president, Obama. Trump’s recent federal budget proposal is set at $4.8 trillion, a $1 trillion increase, and a 20% increase in the budget. Trump’s budget proposal also projects a $1 trillion budget deficit, increasing the federal debt to $23 trillion. Also, these $1 trillion budgetary deficits are projected every year for the next 10 years, increasing the federal debt to over $30 trillion, with yearly interest payments on that debt of over $1 trillion.

This is the party of limited government and balanced budgets? Hogwash! The Republican Party reneged on these values and principals decades ago. They are the party of big government and big budget deficits. They are worse than liberals.

Who will be responsible for paying off all this debt? Your children will be because we did not have the courage to do so ourselves. Well, we keep re-electing the same legislators’ that got us into this mess. We get the government we deserve.
