Lent, a time to reflect

Last year I wrote a letter, not published, partly shown below. With false narratives being floated, it is time concerned citizens hear and tell truth.

1. Liberals are for killing unborn

2. Conservatives hate Blacks and Mexicans

3. Gun rights include right to own and open carry all guns

4. God makes America great

Do these statements meet your standards for truth or do they fall short?

Feelings based on statements are what make us humans; however we need to stop and reflect, is this how we want to be remembered. People live between these extremes. In his teachings, Jesus showed us that life is about taking care of each other even when thinking others have betrayed us.

In Response to “Bishop Daly does his job” (Mark Krigbaum, Feb. 18 02/18/2019): He claims that Bishop Daly was correct it is not right to take Communion if pro-choice. Reasoning it is a sin to support abortion, therefore not allowed the Sacrament of the Altar.

As a Christian, I believe we come to the Lord’s table not because we deserve it; instead we ask for God’s forgiveness. No one is sinless or deserves the Sacrament of the Altar; God allows participation by confessing our sins

I attach this partial writing from https://lutheranreformation.org/history/large-small-catechisms-dr-luther/#_ftn3

The Ten Commandments doesn’t allow us which commandment we must obey. Time we heed the word of the Lord and ask for forgiveness.
