Sex ed portion of ESSB 5395

Right on, Ms. Madsen! (“‘Viewer Discretion Advised’ says it all,” March 7)

Since when are agenda-driven, social-engineering Dems smarter than professional physicians and teachers and parents regarding health education needs of children? ESSB 5395 is a travesty of legislative bullying that will pollute our children’s minds with information they don’t need at an age they can’t handle. This is nothing more than liberal propaganda pushed by vocal minority interests at the expense of the majority’s moral values and parents’ rights.

Do not confuse children with new definitions of male and female anatomy and physiology as science have not changed. If some have difficulty accepting science as fact, offer them counseling appropriate to their situation. Do not burden the rest of us, our children and grandchildren with required pornographic sex ed and revisions of truth.

Dems leave it to school boards and curriculum committees to deal with the cesspool of lawyerly verbiage they’ve created by ESSB 5395! School boards and curriculum committees then are burdened with OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) deciding whether their custom-written curriculum is progressive enough. And we wonder why school district budgets are always seemingly tight?

It is just this type of government interference that inflates the cost of education. And we citizens are supposed to accept such social engineering as an obligatory part of public education? No way! It is no wonder that so many of us have taken our children out of public education and gone to private or home-schooling.

Governor Inslee, do the right thing! We are watching for your veto of this trash.
