A better use for the money
My proposal is for Americans to come together and start wearing full-face respirators to slow or stop the spread of the coronavirus. Instead of slowing or shutting businesses, we could become united in the stopping the spread of the coronavirus as it is spread by droplets infecting the eyes, nose and mouth.
“Rosie the Riveter” was one of the uniting forces of Americans helping to put planes together for our pilots during World War 2. Instead of handing out resources to keep Americans idle and safe, thus declining our economy by joblessness, why not direct that money into producing full-face respirators?! It would spur the economy by providing jobs and give Americans more freedom rather than shutting us behind closed doors of isolation.
Keeping the distancing factors in place, working from home as much as possible would still be in place. Perhaps supporting a voluntary “buy your neighbor a full face mask” promotion? We are supposed to be a people of independent thinkers, responsible for ourselves and helpers of our neighbors, yet even wearing a half face respirator or disposable gloves in public is viewed as strange and extreme?!
The coronavirus is going to be here for quite some time; why not work with it rather than just let it continue to dominate?! We can become the generation of full-face respirator bobble-heads.
