Stop the hoarding

As the coronavirus has begun to create widespread panic within our region, supplies have become very sparse, creating an even bigger panic for those who are already concerned about the virus itself. Your article “Pandemic Panic Shopping” by Adam Shanks on March 14th states that items like cleaning supplies, toilet paper and even paper towels have become difficult to obtain, which is beginning to affect everyone all over the nation.

The main cause of this problem is the hoarding being done by others, and the demand being way higher than the supply. Those to blame are the ones who have taken way more than they are in need of, depriving others of essential needs in this time of mass panic.

This type of system should be changed and can be changed by limiting the amount of those necessary items that each customer can purchase, which would be the ultimate solution to the problem we are all facing. This would make it so that everyone can more easily access those supplies that provide them with basic needs but could create an upset for those with larger family households.
