Thank you all
As a public health nurse and advocate for vulnerable people of all ages, I applaud the actions of our governor, Jay Inslee, the local school boards, the teachers who are trying to find ways to both teach and feed their students, the parents who are at home with children perhaps trying to work from home, the parents who cannot work from home and the valiant daycare workers who stay open so these parents can work.
The public libraries endeavoring to provide learning and leisure opportunities for the community and most important the men and women at the Spokane Regional Health Department who provide timely and essential information. Many people are working with SCRHD both out front and behind the scenes to keep us safe: police, fire, ambulance, nurses, physicians, therapists, pharmacists, home health aides and many members of the emergency response system, including retired health care professionals who provide their expertise to the Medical Reserve Corps. Grocery store workers keep the supply lines open and neighbors freely offer help to their neighbors who need it.
This is what community looks like. Lacking leadership and accurate information from the highest levels of government, we are pulling together and we will pull through. Thanks to you all.
