Innovia facing the challenges

When I first learned that Shelly O’Quinn was the new CEO of Innovia, previously named the Inland Northwest Community Foundation, the first thing that came to mind was how fortunate the foundation was to have such a quality person in its leadership.

The organization made noticeable strides in becoming more visible and connected to the communities they serve by taking the time to visit each one. They have made remarkable impacts on communities partnering with nonprofit programs in their widespread service area. The important work they do makes a difference and creates sustainable change. They understand that every situation has a story and do not rely on a piece of paper or a web form to tell that story — they show up and hear it firsthand.

With change, there are challenges along the way and updated policies to establish in order to continue to meet the Mission, Vision and Values of their Foundation. Shelly O’Quinn and the Innovia board clearly face these challenges head-on as they take the time to establish what is necessary for the organization to reaffirm its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
