We can do better

In response to the opioid crisis across the state of Washington and the U.S., we need to be careful because people used to use methamphetamine, but now people are searching for Fentanyl, which is 50 to 100 times more potent and dangerous for people to use. There are people smuggling this from “super labs” from Mexico, then dispersing it across the nation. We need to fix the problem of addiction here in our community and nation to be able to get anywhere with fixing addictions.

We have been addressing many problems with opioids here in the Spokane community, but I think we can do better at reaching families with people struggling with addiction. Finding more resources for families with people who are struggling should be implemented at universities and more local areas where people are struggling within the city. We could even do a city town meeting after this pandemic passes over.
