A great reminder

Kudos to photographer Kathy Plonka and the local section editor for the charming photo of Sami Abdalla in Tuesday’s Review (“Kids practice ‘niceful’ gesture for vets,” April 21).

It is strongly reminiscent of the best of Norman Rockwell and I think evokes an authentic sense of what we used to believe was great about America and hope still is. At a time when there is far too much anger and negative name-calling, it reminds us that beauty and goodness comes in all packages, large and small.

I plan on finding a way to frame this picture so I can have a constant reminder of the beauty and caring we have in Spokane.
