Debit card Catch-22

Numerica Credit Union does not have the best interests in mind regarding its members.

In order for me to earn monthly dividends on my checking account I must use my debit card 12 times each month (excluding ATM transactions). I am in my 70s, therefore in a high risk group. I called Numerica to ask if the requirement could be waived during these quarantine times. I was told no, the decision was made at the highest levels not to waive the requirement.

That means I have to make extra trips outside and endanger myself. I was told I could use my debit card on line. I was appalled they would say such a thing, give an on line vendor direct access to my checking account? I’m old, not stupid.
