Done listening to Vestal

One can only imagine the view from the moral high ground from where Shawn Vestal continues to craft his condescending opinion pieces.

Shawn chastises us that if we question the governor or the “experts” that we are irresponsible. If we have a “gut” (aka common sense) reaction and question the governor’s decisions that are impacting this state and our community we are somehow selfish and ignorant, regardless of how many livelihoods are being crushed. Decisions where it’s okay to shop at Lowe’s, but for some unexplained reason prohibit us from hunting, fishing or playing golf.

Shawn has lectured a couple times now that we should trust the “experts” at UW who created the pandemic model that the governor references to guide his decisions. A model which was originally so tremendously overstated its predictions of death had to be ramped down by over two-thirds. I am sure the scientists at UW are great at science; I’m just not sure they are great at modeling pandemics.

So the next time you plead for us to blindly trust the “experts,” please choose an expert whose directions contain a bit more common sense. For accepting anything short of that would truly be irresponsible.
