Fly the flag

I fly the U.S. flag on my house every summer. I fly it because it symbolizes all Americans, but for me, it especially symbolizes every soldier who died and fought in every war. It symbolizes all the women who persisted in the battle that led to the ratification of the 19th Amendment 100 years ago; it gave women the right to vote.

It symbolizes all the people who have struggled and the many who have died in the fight for civil and equal rights. The flag symbolizes the America they and many others have given us.

In light of that, I encourage everyone to fly the U.S. flag. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been wearing a mask when I go to public places. I wear it not only because it protects others and me from the virus, but also it symbolizes how we all come together to fight the virus. In light of that, I encourage everyone to wear a mask.
