Stay away from Plaquenil
Thank you all for being on the front line.
I was an army captain in Panama in 1968, where Plaquenil use was large and wide. As a Group Health medical staff optometrist, my clinical skills were used for 35 years to screen patients for the potential blindness the drug causes because of corneal and retinal deposits.
It’s a serious drug.
“What do you have to lose?”
At only two times maximum adult dose, (2 grams instead of one) you can die.
The drug has a 40-day half life, so a daily dose is exponentially additive and increasingly toxic as time on the drug increases. The total lifetime use over time is also additive and cumulative.
Chronic use patients were screened for color vision changes and retinal and corneal deposits every three months.
So, in the instance anyone suggests use of the drug, they would do well to be ignored.
The president is leading the way in suggesting people use this very toxic drug.
“What do you have to lose?”
Well, your vision is on the list.
