Who’s ‘unhinged’?

I am sitting and watching the news on Saturday morning, waiting for election results. A letter in Friday’s edition called me “unhinged” because I lean left (“Curley surrenders,” Nov. 6).

I’m sorry Mr. Richard, but the only person I see as unhinged right now is Donald Trump and his never-ending false tweets. He is only proving what many of us already knew: he has absolutely no understanding of democracy and how it works. He has no relationship with the truth.

I understand there will be policy changes with each new president because people have different views about running the country. But I do expect the president of the United States to be a responsible adult. I do not put up with bullying, name-calling and lies from my children or grandchildren and I see no reason – NONE – that I should tolerate it from a president.

I am not on the “far left” and I don’t lump all Republicans as “far right.” My hope is that all of us in the middle of both parties can work together to heal the nation and actually get legislation done that benefits all of us.
