That was an embarrassment

The performance by the presidential candidates at the debate was an embarrassment. They did not demonstrate respect to each other, the moderator, the audience, the American public, the commission that sponsors the debates and the office of the Presidency.

If their performance was planned to gain an advantage, I believe that it did just the opposite. I believe that people that watch the debates want, expect and deserve professional behavior by the candidates. There are significant differences in the candidate’s position on many issues. We want to hear them. It would be interesting to read a transcript of the debate where the background noise in eliminated. Maybe then we could hear what the candidates intended to say.

If the candidates insist on acting like spoiled children, then they should be treated like children. I do not see them changing their actions voluntarily. The solution could be to put them in a soundproof booth and give the moderator a mute button.
