Fluoride, fluoride, everywhere

I had this crazy dream the other night. I was following a street sweeping water truck as it was dumping thousands of gallons of water on Spokane’s more than 750 miles of streets. Amazingly, in this dream, all the potholes began to disappear just like the cavities in one’s teeth.

I then took my car through a car wash and as the many gallons of water bathed and rinsed my vehicle, all the dents and dings on my car magically began to disappear, again just like the cavities in one’s teeth.

Continuing my drive, I then observed lawns at city parks and private residences being irrigated with many more thousands of gallons of water and WOW, all the weeds were magically disappearing, just like the cavities in one’s teeth. I then envisioned thousands of Spokane toilets being flushed along with many more dishwashers and washing machines being used and … well, you get the idea!

In my dream I then realized all this water usage wasn’t limited just to Spokane, but throughout the entire county where city water is distributed. As my dream was coming to an end, I found myself stopping at a store to purchase a tube of toothpaste, knowing I could reduce cavities in my mouth using less than a glass of water.
