Voter suppression

Voter suppression by the Republican Party is widespread and has various methods of achieving same. Just to think that the mainstay of our republic is openly being crippled by Republicans is by nature … anti-American. One man … one vote is not happening.

Witness Governor Abbott of Texas limiting voting drop-off boxes to one per county. Some very large counties occupy Texas. Then, there were standard blue collection mailboxes being removed from Montana streets and in other states. Our Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, ordered several hundred mail sorting machines taken out of service. Poll fees are being asked for in some states. Gerrymandering by Republicans is ongoing. Numerous lawsuits brought by Republicans are limiting voting rights. In short, Republicans are going against our nation’s very foundation.

However, there is cause for hope. Voters are turning out in record numbers across the country. Real law enforcement, not “Proud Boys,” stand ready to protect voters from intimidation. I strongly urge my fellow Americans to continue massive turnout in voting to support our nation’s ongoing experiment.
